THE LEGACY CHASE

On September 26, 2009, Shawan Downs will host the 9th annual Legacy Chase. The Legacy Chase has become an annual social event for many, marrying the excitement of steeplechasing with the beauty of the countryside.

Proceeds from this event benefit GBMC HealthCare. Over the last three years, the event generated $265,000 that was donated to the nursing department at GBMC.

Shawan Downs' signature event, the Legacy Chase, features multiple steeplechase races, that award close to $100,000 in purse money. In addition, the day features a vendor villiage and children's Legacy Fair.

2007 Winner of the Ski Roundtop Timber Stakes: Irish Prince (NZ), owned by Augustin Stables, trained by Sanna N. Hendriks, and ridden by Jody Petty.

The Legacy Chase offers a sensational day of racing, a beautiful day in the countryside and a great way to share a unique occasion with friends, associates and family.
