MCTA HORSE TRIALS AT SHAWAN DOWNS

MCTA Horse Trials at Shawan Downs hosted close to 500 competitors throughout the 3-day event. The sponsors' party offered an outstanding opportunity for sponsors to tour the new cross country course with course designer Olympic Gold Medalist David O'Connor.

The well established MCTA Horse Trials at Shawan Downs will continue its thirty year history with a truly historic addition. In 2005 the USEF/USEA approved the addition of Intermediate and Advanced to MCTA HT , feeling that Shawan Downs is one of the best horse trials sites in the United States. With the success of the past four years since the move to Shawan Downs from the famed Jackson Hole Farm site we have continued to enjoy the support of the parent organization, Maryland Combined Training Association and now have joined with Shawan Downs and the Land Preservation Trust for a permanent home. Our hundreds of volunteers, spectators, and officials have enjoyed weekends of unrivaled sport as Olympians and amateurs challenge their spectacular mounts around the beautiful and engaging cross country courses.
