FIRST RACE 12:45PM
Lead Line Trot Race
For ponies ridden by Juniors who have not reached their 7th birthday as of the first of the year. All ponies must have a leadline attached to their bridle and must be accompanied by an adult. About 30 yds. walk or trot; entries breaking out of the trot must go behind the last entry in the field before continuing or may be disqualified. Riders must wear ASTM approved helmets. Overgirths and protective vests are highly encouraged. Racing silks encouraged, proper riding attire accepted.
DIV I (conditions above)- Small, Medium, Large Awards
DIV II - No age limit, not eligible for Div I. For rider’s needing 2-3 assistants. Indicate entry size.
SECOND RACE 1:00 PM
Junior Pony Field Master’s Chase
For fairly hunted ponies 5 yrs old and upward. To be ridden by Juniors who have not reached their 16th birthday as of the first of the current year. Catch weights. Entries are to follow the Field Master over a flagged course not to exceed 2 miles with no more than 12 obstacles, none of which are to exceed 2‘9”. After the last fence, the Field Master will release the field to race for the finish. This race may be split into small, medium, and large divisions, pending sufficient entries.

SECOND RACE 1:30PM
Senior Foxhunter’s Flat Race
This race is open to amateur riders who are at least 16 yrs of age, on fairly hunted horses. This course will run over approximately 1 1/2 miles of hunting country. Horses must be a minimum of 5 yrs of age. Minimum weight 165 lbs.

THIRD RACE 1:40PM
STICK PONY RACE
Open to amateur “jockeys” 7 years of age and under. Entry fee $5. All jockeys must supply their own “mount” and are encouraged to wear racing silks. Prizes to all starters. About 25 feet on the flat. Enter via website www.NAPTP.com
FOURTH RACE 2:00PM
Junior Field Master’s Chase
For fairly hunted horses 5 yrs old and upward. To be ridden by junior riders who have not reached their 16th birthday as of the first of the year. All horses are not to have won a sanctioned timber race in the last 3 years, excluding foxhunter races. Catch weights. Entries are to follow the Field Master over a flagged course not to exceed 2 miles with no more than 12 obstacles, none of which are to exceed 2‘9. After the last fence, the Field Master will release the field to race for the finish.

The George Sloan Memorial
Foxhunter Steeplethon (timber)
Weight 165lbs. For fairly hunted 5 yr olds and upward who have not won a sanctioned timber race in the last 3 years, excluding foxhunter races. To be ridden by amateur riders who have not won a sanctioned race in the last 5 years, excluding foxhunter races. All riders or an immediate family member must be able to claim 100% ownership of the mount. Approx. 2 1/2 miles over mostly timber.
SIXTH RACE 3:00PM
The Chronicle of the Horse
Heavyweight Owner-Rider Steeplethon (timber)
Weight 185lbs. For fairly hunted 5 yr olds and upward who have not won a sanctioned timber race in the last 3 years, excluding foxhunter races. To be ridden by amateur riders who have not won a sanctioned race in the last 5 years, excluding foxhunter races. All riders or an immediate family member must be able to claim 100% ownership of the mount. Approx. 2 1/2 miles over mostly timber.
SEVENTH RACE 3:30PM
Senior Field Master’s Chase
For fairly hunted 5 yr olds and upward who have not won a sanctioned timber race in the last 3 years. To be ridden by amateur riders who have never won a sanctioned jumping race. Catch weights. Riders are to follow the Field Master over a flagged course not to exceed 2 1/2 miles with no more than 18 obstacles; jumps will be approximately 3’3”. After the last fence, the Field Master will release the field to race for the finish. Riders competing in this division are not eligible for other races during the day except flat or relay races.

EIGHTH RACE 4:00PM
The Beat Up Cup
About 5 furlongs. Entry fee $1,000. Aged riders preferred, must be amateurs who have not ridden in a sanctioned jumping race in the last 5 years. Minimum weight 180 lbs. To be ridden in racing colors. $1,000 to winning entry! Proceeds from this race to benefit NAPPA’s educational funds.

ADDITIONAL RACE INFORMATION
All entries must be NAPPA members and have completed at least one NAPPA qualifying race in the 2007 Spring or 2006 Fall racing season. NAPPA horses/ponies with the most points will have first priority to race entries. Races may be combined, split, or requirements and conditions may be changed at the request of the race committee. Entrants should have verification of hunting certificate on file with NAPPA. Additional entries may be excepted to fill races. Leadline ponies may enter an additional race.
*All entries are responsible for their own lead and must wear current ASTM/SEI approved helmets, a protective vest, and an overgirth. The use of a whip is forbidden in all Field Master’s Chase races & the leadline trot race.
Call for stabling availability.
A Post Race Party sponsored by the Maryland Hunt Cup will be held next to the paddock after the last race.
Winner of every race will receive a hunting package, which includes free capping s to 3 MFHA hunts along with additional prizes TBA.
